I like your page, all the information and the blog. I've also met with two people through the forum, Sav and Anna, who were really friendly. I'd like to join you, to meet others and to enjoy more from Rome.

comment > The crazy Italian bureaucracy: visa and residence permit

Nice article Anna! You just touched the weak point of all strangers in Italy. I recommend everyone to find parents of friends from small cities and go to small immigration offices rather than immigration office of Roma.

comment > A Londoner in Rome

hey sav! I'm back in Istanbul for some weeks now, and you made me remember that I've missed Rome, and not only one roman. : ) I love cannolo siciliano, too. Ciuri ciuri is the best shop for cannolis in Rome and I say it because I've tasted it in 10 different places! http://www.ciuri-ciuri.it/

comment > Is Italy a multicultural country? What do you think?

When I see chinese boys talking in roman dialect, check esquilino market for oriental ingredients or take any tram from porta maggiore and leave the touristic center behind, I get convinced that this is a multicultural country even that the mediocre compaesano from the mountains wouldn't admit it. It's easy to create fear towards the unknown, towards the people who doesn't look, smell, talk, eat like you. And it's also one of the best ways to get more votes defending security against liberty. The bookshop Yeti in Pigneto has a great book about it, 3 districts of Rome where most immigrants live and work are studied by academics and mapped like a tourist guidebook.

comment > Is Rome ready for the bike?

Hey Sav, when we were talking about my bike and bike routes, I wasn't aware of your article here. I'd say yes, Rome is ready, small streets, piazzas are perfect except daydreaming tourists, on bigger roads you don't have a problem either. We should just wait the moment that drivers become aware that it's not normal to stay in a metal box in traffic every morning.
