comment > Accommodation in Rome - I Part
Finding a (good) accomodation in Rome might be a nightmare! I've been looking for a nice flat or even a single room since 1 month and I notice that the average offer is really low-level as landowners increasingly need money but they don't make investiments anymore in their properties which look more and more like bunkers/prisons/hospitals with ugly furnishing, dirty walls and so on. This situation is dramatic expecially in Rome where the request of rooms is very hight both from italian students and from professionals. The local leader newspaper to find a house in Rome is still Porta Portese but you find "everything" on it. Even 10 pages of announcements which take you ages to be red! Prices are high and anyway most of the time they are not adequate to the offer. VCN is good for foreign people but prices are even higher than usual because the demand is quite selected. What else! Ah! Finding a (good) acocmodation in Rome is har work! Ciao

comment > from north Italy to Rome: I'm the real expat!
Hi Giuseppe, this is fantastic!! I'm from the North of Italy as well (Tuscany) and despite I've been living here since many years I cannot really say I feel myself at home here :-). It's difficult to deny that the North of Italy and the South of Italy (which includes Rome)- both beautiful and interesting!! - are really two different 'Italie' from many points of view. But don't worry, join often FIR'e events and things will go better :-) Romans/Italians who are involved in FIR are very likely to be more 'open minded' people. Ciao!
